Plastic And Reconstructive Surgeries

Plastic and reconstructive surgeries are executed to treat and recover body structures affected by birth deformities, developmental abnormalities, infection,  or trauma. For example, these surgeries are performed for absent / extra fingers or a facial defects like cleft palate and lip. The reconstructive surgical procedures in these cases include reattaching the fingers and toes on arrival through advanced and sophisticated Microvascular replantation procedure to enable full and early restoration of function.Other Plastic and reconstructive surgical procedures include Micro-neural surgeries in Brachial Plexus Injuries that involve transplanting functioning nerves to areas affected with paralysis, to restore movements and function and casing open fractures of bones with skin and soft tissues through conventional microsurgical tissue transfer method.

Our Anaesthesia department provides comprehensive anaesthesia care, which includes preoperative, postoperative, critical care and pain relief services with advanced Microprocessor controlled anaesthesia workstations, multiparameter monitors and volumetric infusion devices. The Department follows internationally acknowledged protocols and guidelines to ensure patients’ well being and safety during the preoperative period. Patients range from octogenarians with multiple co-morbid diseases to infants. Orthopaedic anaesthesia outline the backbone of major surgical procedures i.e. arthroplasty, spine and trauma surgeries. The surgical procedures demands high degree of proficiency and expertise in advanced techniques such as fibre optic intubation for complex airway problems, hypotensive anaesthesia, haemodilution, one lung ventilation and invasive Haemodynamic monitoring. Other advanced practices include nerve stimulator and sonographic aided peripheral nerve blocks, laryngeal mask airway, single puncture needle through needle technique, central neural blockade and neuromuscular monitoring. Our postoperative pain management is tailored to suit special population groups, i.e. paediatric, elderly, obese, obstructive sleep apnea etc. with a custom tailored cocktail of analgesic drugs that provides a pain free, post-operative and recovery period so that our arthroplasty patients can walk after few hours from the surgery, without pain and discomfort. Acute traumas including polytrauma are well managed and taken care by our fully equipped and trained staff for resuscitation and operative stabilization and manage the ICU and postoperative wards around the clock.
